Coach Compliance & Certification Instructions
Thank you for volunteering to coach with Central Whidbey Soccer Club!
We appreciate your time, energy, and dedication to our players and community. Before stepping on the field, there are a few required steps to complete. These are mandated by Washington Youth Soccer and state/federal law to help keep players safe.
Step 1 — Register as a Volunteer

Log in to your Sports Connect account on our Central Whidbey Soccer website.

Go to the Volunteer tab.

Select the age group you wish to coach and submit your registration.
This triggers the system to send you your compliance checklist.
Step 2 — Complete Required Training
All training is completed through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center: https://learning.ussoccer.com
You’ll need to complete:
Tip: Finish these courses before moving on to the Risk Management Application (RMA).
Step 3 — Sync Your Certifications

After completing the courses, the system will automatically sync your certifications for up to 7 days.

If your certifications don’t appear after 7 days:

Log in to Sports Connect.

Go to My Account.

Click Get Learning Center Updates.

Registrars and the WYS state office can also run this update if needed.
Step 4 — Submit Your Risk Management Application (RMA)
⚠️ Important — Do NOT pay for the background check on the U.S. Soccer site.
Once your certifications are complete:

Go back to the Central Whidbey Soccer website.

Open the Volunteer tab.

You’ll now see a list of items to complete.

Scroll down and click Submit in the bottom-right corner.
This finalizes your background check through Washington Youth Soccer at no cost to you.
Quick Checklist
✅ Register as a Volunteer in Sports Connect
✅ Complete SafeSport Certification
✅ Complete the Intro to Safety Course (covers Concussion & Sudden Cardiac Arrest)
✅ Sync your certifications if needed
✅ Submit the RMA via the Central Whidbey website
